Important things to know & what to do!

STEP ONE – READ THE MODIFICATIONS THEN RETURN TO THIS PAGE
You can only comment on the Main Modifications to the Plan that appear in THIS DOCUMENT (Click here to read that document and then return to this page, The Main Modifications for our site NWS31, are those on the doc.  MM332, the one in red .

STEP TWO – DRAFT YOUR RESPONSE (OR USE THE SAMPLE LETTER IN STEP THREE)
It’s essential you quote the reference to the documents for our site, so the inspectors know to which site you are refering. Our site is which is: “MM332- Main Modifications for Proposed Site Allocation NWS31 (page 141/2) – Conditions on Development”

  • Say why the condition you are referring to is not ‘sound’ or not ‘legal’
  • Give evidence and /or examples.
  • Say what change you are asking for to make the condition ‘sound’ or ‘legal’. This may be extra details you want adding or words you want changing in the condition.
  • Sign/state your name.

We think the main conditions we can challenge and that might get a result are those that refer to:

  • Loss of amenity of Green and Open Space    (ref MM332, conditions 1,3)
  • Flood Risk (groundwater)                                   (ref. MM332, condition 4)
  • Access off Don Avenue                                       (ref. MM332, condition 6)
  • Biodiversity                                                           (ref. MM332, condition points 8,9,10)

(Other documents are available for comment, listed in the ‘ Have your say’ section on council website, but if you want to comment on these, please use document reference and be specific about what you want to challenge.)

STEP THREE – BASE YOUR RESPONSE ON OUR SAMPLE LETTER
We have uploaded a ‘sample’ letter (CLICK HERE) which you can use as a reference document and which gives examples of layout, references, and points and phrases you might want to include in your own letter.

  • The sample letter is fairly comprehensive and will be (or form the basis of) the representation we will be submitting to the consultation from Wharncliffe Side Let’s Breathe on behalf of the village.
  • Please don’t copy the whole letter ‘word for word’, but you can use it to help you with your own response.
  • Remember, you don’t have to mention everything, or go into lots of detail if you don’t want to. You could just pick out 1 or 2 points that affect you personally and give examples, or just list some of the issues overall, it’s up to you.
  • Submissions need to be in by May 5th by email or post. Email: sheffieldplan@sheffield.gov.uk or write to address on top of the sample letter.
